How do you adjust PROC levels other then using DX or DX+ default levels?

While in smartSDR 2.8 I would like to adjust the level of Processing (PROC) using other than the default DX or DX+ values. Are these default levels pre-programmed (fixed) in smartSDR? What is the dB value of NOR, DX and DX+? Is there a way to make small changes?

I can tell you that they are fixed at Normal, DX and DX+0

The ACSSB routine used by the PROC is very effective. All you really need are the three settings: Norm is essentially a leveler, DX adds additional processing, DX+ ads additional processing and some high boost. Unlike legacy processors or compressors, there is no need to fine tune exact levels, since this spins done in software. Just be careful to watch these things: 1) Keep your mic level out of the red. If you are in the red, you ARE distorting. 2) if you use DX or DX+, watch your bass levels and lo cut. Too much will overwhelm the PROC and cause distortion artifacts even if you are not in the red. 3) don’t go by what you sound like in MON, because it is tapped before the filter, PROC, or tx EQ. Use the record and playback or the full duplex testing method to hear your actual audio. Ken - NM9P0

DX and DX+ use Control Envelop SSB (CESSB). The signal is boosted 2.5dB. Software will maintain a "No Overmodulation" level as long as mic gain settings keep peak levels out of the Red (0dB) at the very far right of the Level meter (-40db -30dB level -10 0 )0
