Got  my 6400 20th of April and have no serious situations with it and was very pleasantly  surprised how simple it is to operate, i had many concerns and questions before i got the radio but afterwards the learning curve is very short. I had a Kachina 505 radio in early 2000 which was also software driven but nothing like the 6400. Have i learned everything i need to know to have fun YES! thanks fellows for your radio and help .

Got my Flex 6700 I think in March and I used it a TON, works like a champ, does way way more than any radio I've ever owned.  I just don't see how I could go back after this....just don't see it.

Don, I think what helps is that you have to "unthink" of this as a typical ham radio.  If you were to order an icom 7610 you can receive it and expect that when you turn it on and spin the main dial something well happen just as it has happened on every other icom/kenwood HF radio for years.

Yes there are more menus and perhaps buttons/knobs but the paradigm is the same.

with a flex radio the paradigm is very different.  If you come into the radio thinking icom like you will be frustrated.  If you come into the radio with an open mind and you read this forum and the quick start you can be up and running very quickly.
