Using PC and 6400, no Maesro. Can't hear my sidetone.

All volume controls up, Sidetone button on (blue), but can't hear my CW sidetone thru the PC. Probably something obvious, but don't know what. Not using Maestro.

Sidetone does not come through the PC speakers. You must have powered speakers attached to the radio. They can be ordinary computer speakers, but most of us prefer a high-quality speaker to take advantage of the Flex-6000-series superb audio. I use AudioEngine 2+ speakers and love them.

Thanks Craig. That's a pity, should be an option given how a station can be set up. Fortunately, I het some RF feedback thru my PC speakers. But now I also see no sidetone from Maestro. Not sure how this would work in a remote situation. I put headphones in the Maestro, no sidetone there.

The Maestro generates its own sidetone. Make sure you have the sidetone volume setting turned up on the Maestro itself.0

You could install VAC (Virtual Audio Calble) program and run the Repeater program in it to repeat audio from 6400 DAX output and put it into the PC audio card output. I've done that for other things. But it's a whole lot easier to just plug in a speaker or headset into the 6400 hihi

Thanks Rick. Took a while to find out where the Tx menu was... In front of my nose, but it's not covered on the CW pages of the manual. Thanks again,Frank W2YK

Ugh. I'll try that some time. Now I know why I saved all those 'powered speakers"...Thanks Frank, W2YK

To get rid of all the powered speakers cluttering up the place I replaced my monitors with ones that have built in speakers....but they are driven by the PC. Sidetone not available through the PC is just stoopid. What's the point of a networked radio that can be hidden away in a closet, leaving a clean OP position if it has to have critical items tethered to it?

I'm new to Flex but I'm getting side tone via the computer wail using my Heil Headset. Try turning the MON in the P/CW control box.
