Installing remote SDR on a Maestro, remotely.

My cable modem was reset by the cable company on a service call. Since then my remote Maestro (500 miles away) will not log in and shows UDP failures among other things. Trying to reinstall remote smart SDR with no luck? Worked great for months before that. 6300 and Maestro, Rev 2.1.32

You need to have ports 4993 and 4994 open for UDP in your router(modem) to make Smartlink work. If the reset closed those ports then that's your problem.
Fix will depend on the router make & model.
The cable company might help.

Too late now, but for the future always leave a PC running Teamviewer so you can log on remotely to then be able to log into your router to make changes. Mike0

Do you have remote access to your router? If so just login. Find the iP address of your flex which most likely changed. Then redo the port forwarding. 73 Bill VA3QB0

Jack, as has been mentioned above, if your ISP changed/reset your router, then I suspect that the port forwarding configuration, either manually of by UPnP will need to be reconfigured. If you were using uPnP and this is on by default in the router, then rebooting the radio should dynamically open the ports. There is also the possibility that there is an IP issue if your radio was using a statically assigned IP address. The key takeaway here is that you are going to need access to the radio and it's network either physically or remotely.0

I am on the radio end with modem and router, the Maestro is 500 miles away. I will check out those ports, however the router was not reset (reboot yes) only the modem which has been bridged to the router. My IP did change, how do I tell remote SDR or reinstall remote SDR on the Maestro? The IP once set is continuously renewed. Never had it change before. Is that maybe not necessary at the Maestro end? My iPhone works perfectly remotely, different app maybe same ports? But did need to up date the IP. The sad part is this remote system has worked great since the 2.0 came out. Can't say enough about it! It has enabled a good friend with disabilities, a life long amateur, under very difficult circumstances to return to Amateur Radio. I have tried other arrangements but none have demonstrated the reliability and ease of use as remote SDR. At least until the cable company decided to help! Which turned out to be completely unnecessary!! Thanks for all the inputs,,,will follow up.0

Hi Jack
If I understand what you are saying, it sounds like the Maestro is the only device having issues connecting, correct?
The way it works is that that Maestro will check with our servers to see what the your external IP address is and which ports. Then, the Maestro does the connection to the radio. If rebooting the Maestro has not solved the issue, then maybe it is logged out of SmartLink or possibly the firewall at the Maestro end is blocking outbound connections somehow.
Since your iPhone works remotely, we can eliminate the Radio end as being part of the problem, at least for now.
