External GPSDO - Is it worth the effort?

I use a 10Mhz Temperature Controlled GPS Disciplined Frequency Reference in my Electronics Lab for various pieces of test equipment. My now shipped 6400 will be located in the Lab/Shop area and would only take 25Ft of 50Ohm coax to connect the 4 port distribution amp to the Flex. The DSO is always on, up to temp and locked to frequency. From my reading, I understand the 6400 does support an external 10Mhz ref input.
For the average user, some CW, some DX chasing/rag chewing and a little digital, is it worth the effort to cable it up and and configure for it?
Thanks all, Im kind-of new to ultra precision radio equipment. Will - N7IPY

There are several reasons you may want to provide an external reference but two of the most common are:
ARRL Frequency Measuring Tests
Working at GHz frequencies with a transverter
It's a simple cable so why not hook it up since it's so close? That way you can always know you're "on frequency". RCA Male to RCA Male.
