for rackmount I suggest getting a shelf for your rack that will hold the amp. Remember the weight of the amp and depth.

A 4 post cabinet would be a better choice than a 2 post rack as it can support the front and back of the shelf. If you must use a rack (two post) then use a shelf that mounts to the rack in the center of the shelf so the weight is balanced front to back

I HIGHLY recommend a shelf.  And if the rack does not have rear rails, get a shelf rated for 45 lbs.

I would never recommend a 2 post for this amp... just asking for trouble. 37lbs, think about that

One thing you may want to buy (third party) is a molded power cord. I don't like to use **** on power plugs and like the clean look of a molded plug. You can get C15 to 6-20 power cords from amazon and other places. I bought one from PDUWhips.com

Other countries would probably have their own plugs available as well. I got a 10 foot cord. Yes, voltage drop but hasn't been a problem.

You can still use a shelf on a 2 post rack as long as you use a center balanced shelf. this one is good for 50Lbs

I'm not sure what all the hubbub is regarding 2-post shelves. The amp is pretty tall so just get a 3U or 4U cantilever shelf. They're good for 150lb or more.

correct. The point is you cannot mount the amp so the face of the amp is flat at the rack. The weight front to back needs to be supported in the middle.

Someone else sent a picture of the shelf which can be used.

??? I must be too thick to understand what is the concern. Cantilevers are used to suspend bridges plus load.

This following shelf uses a deeper face to provide more screws plus steeper side bracing. Thus, the 150lb load rating.

I agree on the molded power cord as well. How do you attach it to the PGXL? I haven't seen a picture of the rear panel of the final version yet.

I use a NEMA 6-20 receptacle for my current tube type amp. At the pduwhips.com site, I see the custom cords all have molded plugs at both ends. Wouldn't I need a pigtail at one end to attach to the PGXL? I would order the NEMA 6-20 plug for the other end.

The original poster wanted to know if there is a rack mount kit for the amp, similar to the rack mount kit for the radio. On a two post rack the kit on the radio and the front of the radio sits flish with the rack. You should not do that because of the weight of the amp. What you are suggesting for a shelf that mounts so the weight is centered front to back would work. I have used them at work. The point is to use the proper shelf to support the amp safely. I have a 46 inch 4 post cabinet that I am looking to use to put the amp, Auto Tuner and antenna switching in my garage which is under the shack. I will leave the front and rear doors off to allow good air flow. Dave wo2x

Well, have seen this to convert a NEMA 6-20 to 15amp standard AC type plug
limited to 12Amps for safety with breaker built-in

The Furman ADP-1520B Power Adapter Cord is a 12" long adapter cable that features a 20 amp female socket at one end and a 15 amp male plug with an internal 12 amp breaker at the other. This will allow 20 amp products to be used in 15 amp application

Not sure if 12Amp breaker is a deal breaker for 110VAc operation

If your shack has NEMA 6-20 20Amp outlets just get the matching plug for it.

Mike That is a 5-20 socket to 5-15 plug. 120 volta both ends, not 240 to 120 Dave wo2x

Related question: Is there an airflow spec? Front/Side/Rear/Bottom minimum clearances? Ambient air temps? My rack is mounted in a semi-conditioned area with temps from 45 degrees to 90 degrees F depending on season. 6700 + Alpha 9500 amp have worked fine.

There's no airflow from the sides or the bottom. Just from the front and back.

You need minimum 12 inches or 30cm clearance front and back. There are holes on the top to the rear as well so you might want to leave a little space on top as well.
