Virtual Club Meeting/Presentation

Hi All!

FlexRadio is looking to do a few virtual club meetings where we come visit your club, however, we would like to do it over Skype.

This would allow us to have interactive voice conversations with your members at your club meeting to discuss our products, some of the features, what you can do with your station, remote operation and more.

In order to do this, we would suggest that you give us a few weeks notice so we can schedule the time frame.

For hosting, it is recommended that you have a PC that is internet connected (a hotspot should work) and some way to present the PC Screen either via a projector or a very large TV.

External computer speakers would also make it easy to hear the presenter.

If you club is interested, please email me (at work), michael@flex-radio.com and let me know the following:
  • Approximate number of participants
  • Some times and dates that would work
  • Areas of interest, or, if just generalized, that is OK too.

This is a great idea. Would there be an opportunity for those not in a club to call in too?

I agree with Dave.  This would be great to use one of those platforms like skype or free converence call with video for this purpose.  I would like to access it from my home also if possible.

As I was typing a reply when I got an email from our club requesting I do another demo for tech night, so I'm confirming a date with the club. Last year I did a presentation  bringing the 6700 & Maestro and a laptop to demonstrate capabilities. I'm sure the club would enthusiastically agree to participate in a Flexradio Skype presentation, I could bring along the Maestro and laptop so to remote into my station and likely others you'll have lined up. Will email you with the required details.

I echo Dave and Larry's question. How about a 'forum' type Skype conference? I know that it would not be easy to do but I sure it would be much appreciated by many of us in particularly those of us who live in Europe.

I think the purpose of the Virtual Club Meeting is to have a Flexradio rep do a presentation via skype video and possibly a Q & A. This would give great access of the numerous club members who don't get to a large hamfest to see Flex's new offerings.
A few suggestions: Flexradio should produce a series of video podcasts detailing features and the talking points specifically for each product. I remember the awesome Maestro video that no doubt was responsible for a peak in sales. Perhaps host a quarterly live feed with product updates in the same vein of the newsletter, offer live feeds or downloadable podcasts to the various ham shows out there. As useful as this community is, not all Flex users come to this community and with some of the negativeness justified or not does confuse the community newbie. A regular video broadcast/podcast would educate many more prospective customers than this community does. It would also keep the focus and avoid the negativeness that sometimes escalate in the community.
