Flex virtual com ports on non SmartSdr PC's

I have several PC's on my LAN. I recently found that 2 PC's that have never had any Flex software installed on them. Have Flex virtual com ports in the device manager. I have tried to remove them and they just come back. Why are they there and how does one get rid of them.
Thanks for any advice.

Right click over the com port heading and click uninstall.

Thanks Jim, have already done that but they reappear at the next reboot. I wanted to know how they are installed on a PC that has never had any Flex software installed on it.

John, the only way you can get those ports is if SmartSDR CAT and the FLEX-VSP driver was installed on the PC. To remove them, reinstall the latest 1.x version of SmartSDR to install CAT. Then use the reset option to remove the ports (right click on the Remove button). Then delete the Com4 or any other com ports listed in CAT. When done, completely remove SmartSDR. Then remove the FlexVSP driver using the Windows Add Remove programs applet.0
