Firewall Problem on Local Network

I've looked through the conversations, found lots of info, but still not sure what to do. My firewall (ESET Internet Security) is blocking discovery of my 6500 on my LAN. If I "pause" the firewall, all is OK. One conversation described setting the radio to a static IP, and then telling the firewall to allow it. Well, I can set the IP on the radio, but can't figure out how to make the firewall allow it.
If this is truly the best approach, I will work with ESET to get it done, but would like to be sure that this is the best way to go. (I really don't know if port forwarding applies to the LAN...if so, let me know and I'll try it) Using Windows 10 Pro and SSDR v2.0.17.

I also use ESET here with windows 10 pro. You have to use the advanced setup under the personal firewall to allow SmartSDR, DAX, CAT to pass through the firewall using the RULES section.
Would be easier to guide you through it possibly by phone than try to tell you how to do it. Maybe you can study the manual for ESET. I rain into this problem several years ago with my first Flex 3000. Let me know if I can help. K4JAF@k4jaf.com 73s Jim

Jim...your hint was just what I needed to look further. I added an ESET firewall rule with these items:
Name: Flex
Enabled
Protocol: Any
Profile: Any
Action: Allow
Direction: Both
Local: 192.168.1.99
I had already set the radio to static IP 192.168.1.99
The only tweak might be to narrow the Protocol, but I have no idea what Flex uses.
Thanks again for your help. --jim KJ3P
