**** Newbie FT8 w/Maestro @ Office on SmartLink Question.

I am really enjoying V2.0 w/SmartLink with a Maestro on my office desk (I'm the boss, so no evil looks).  I participate in a 6 meter 300 mile radius casual net in the mornings and conversation about FT8 trans-Atlantic, multi-hop, Es openings make me want to try FT8 from the office.

I assume I need to run DAX to connect to the K1JT windows program.  Since SmartLink doesn't need bridge-mode VPN to connect to the radio any longer, I plan to retire my SoftEther VPN box on my home LAN in favor of a L2TP-over-IPSec VPN capability built in to my Draytek firewall/router.

My question is:  Will DAX work over non-bridge-mode VPNs and make me happy?

Extra info: I have fiber-to-the-house internet w/250mb upload and 650mb download speeds available.

    DAX is not supported over a SmartLink connection in SmartSDR v2.0.17.  We are evaluating options for possibly including this in a future release.

    Thanks Tim.  Your answer made me rethink what I was asking and now I realize I should have thought about it for a few more minutes before posting ;~}
