If you are taking about a power outage at the radio end of the connection, all you have to do is ensure your router reboots when the power comes on and have a way to remotely power up the radio. Then the radio is ready to accept a SmartLink connection. There are no scripts to run, things to configure or anything else. Once the radio is configured for SmartLink once and associated with a SmartLink account, you are good to go.0

And, to add what Tim says, once you have completed your SmartLink registration, no PC is required as long as the radio is connected to the LAN correctly.
You will need to make sure the radio actually returns to a power one state after a power failure. I'm not sure if that happens automatically or if you have to use the remote power on RCA connector on the back of the radio.1 -
I have turn off my PC but left the router On and Flex6700 On and when this happens, SSDR on my Network at the Coffee Shop can not acess my Flex6700 at home
If I go home and restart PC and reinstall V2.0 & SmartLink and make sure UPNP and Manual Ports all say PASS I am good to go.
When I first restart PC only, I see Fail on all the UPNP and Manual Port Forward Ports for the router with SmartLink.
Maybe the reinstall sets the UPNP to FAIL until I UPNP the SmartLink.
Maybe I don't understand something here.
So, not sure what to say, seems PC has to be alive all the time.

The PC is definitely not required for SmartLink access of the radio once the radio is registered with the SmartLink account. The radio does need to have internet access though.0

Maybe when my PC goes down, maybe something happens to my Flex6700 not seeing the Internet thru my Ethernet Hub Switch

Make sure your radio is connected to your LAN, not the PC. A PC finally not required unless your Internet routing is through that PC0

Eric & Michael,
Everything works now without PC On, It was the Ethernet Hub
that went off with PC that blocked it !

I need a clarification here. I've selected "remote on". The hardware manual refers to the software manual for additional information on this, but I did not find any in the newest manual. At any rate my understanding is the RCA jack should be shorted to enable operation with remote on enabled. To allow for recovery while operating remote should I simply insert a shorted RCA plug so effectively the power supply switch becomes the rig switch? Is there a way to do this in software configuration without the physical RCA plug?

That is one way to do it. Or use a separate remote controlled switch to power on and off the radio. Either will work. If you shut down the radio by turning off the power supply, that will cause a dirty shutdown and the radio will under go additional file system checks when it is booted up again to ensure the file system is OK. Very rarely does this cause an actual problem, but it is not the preferred way to power down the radio.0

Tim, I fully agree that an ordered shutdown is the way to go. The application here is not for routine shutdown; it is for shutdown caused by power failure when you are away from the rig and wanting to operate remotely. Even if the equipment is on a UPS a long power failure would exhaust the UPS, so there needs to be a way for it to return to service. My statement about the power supply switch becoming the rig switch was misleading; I probably should have said something like unplugging the power supply to emulate a mains power failure.0

Understood. Thanks for the clarification.0
