FLDIGI keys the transmitter but no sidetone

I know this has been covered in past posts, but I still do not understand.  I am trying to get FLDIGI to work on my Flex 6500.  Using CWX it keys the transmitter with a sidetone , but using FLDIGI macros, it keys the transmitter but no sidetone. What am I doing wrong?

Do you have MON (monitor) enabled in SmartSDR for Windows?  If not and everything else is working, I suspect that is your issue.

Fldigi usually expects you to be in USB or DigU when doing CW since it is not true CW.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
