flex rtty contesting -SO2R

This last weekend I was able to operate the entire RTTY roundup contest using full SO2R capabilities of the flex 6700.  I am pleased to announce a trouble free operation that produced a likely top 10 effort, so far 5th in the world reported as of now.  I used the latest alpha that contains modifications to the Beta that the community is using now, a flex 6700 and Maestro,  K6TU control for IPAD keying 2 independent amplifiers at the N6RO super station.  

Antennas:
5 X 5 X 5 @ 100 ft on 10m
5 X 5 X 5 @ 140 ft on 15m
5 X 5 X 5 @ 140 ft on 20m
4 X 4 @ 140 ft on 40 m
4 Square with SAL and Beverages on 80M.


We did identify some defects, but they are minor and nit picky and do not affect the core operation of the transceiver.

I am posting a link to a youtube video that shows me running on the 20 and 40 meter bands simultaneosly using N1MM Logger plus, with  MMTTY and 2tone on each instance, and using only the mouse to copy and then send exchanges.
DISCLAIMER:  I realize this is not the best quality, and IT IS NOT NARRATED.  but ambient speaker audio is present so you can hear the diddles. Keep in mind I recorded this while I simultaneously was RUNNING on 2 bands while making the video.  (net net dont be too critical) :-).  You can learn alot by watching it and learn how to do this with your flex 6000 series radio and see how its possible to run on 2 bands in full duplex with a 6700.

Chris your problem is you need a better station. I don't see how you can expect to do well with such a mediocre station. LOL

Awesome video. I have tried rtty with my 6300 and n1mm but must give it a serious go in a big contest this year. Planning an upgrade to 6700 this year too to implement so2r with a 4o3a antenna genius. Does the station use external bandpass filters in addition to the ones in the 6700? 73 Steve gw0gei / gw9j

Hi Steve yes external bandpass filters needed at the HP level.. and probably will still be needed at 400w. depending on separation but if your antennas are in your Garden than you will need em.  I prefer 5B4AGN but any will do and can be automated with the new USB/BCD functionality in the latest Beta.

Chris, Nice set-up.  I used my Flex 6300 to work the RTTY contest this weekend.  I loved it.  It is so fast when you are S & P to click on the next signal in the waterfall and make a contact.

I won't win any awards but I had a blast.

BTW we worked.  I should be in your log.
