PROC and DE issue in v1.10.8 beta release

I've noticed an issue with the latest beta release. I normally operate with the processor and downward expander enabled. I notice when I first start the radio and SmartSDR software, even though the icons are lit, it appears both the expander and processor are not actually enabled. My average talk power is down, the low end frequency response is greatly attenuated, and I notice the tx residual noise floor on the panadapter is higher than normal, indicating the PROC and DE are in fact either disabled or not loading their appropriate values upon startup. If I toggle them both off and back on again, they appear to work properly from that point on. However, if I gracefully shut down the radio and software, then come back later and restart everything, the same problem reoccurs. It is as if the persistence is not working properly. I have recently confirmed this with two other 6500 owners, so I do not believe it is an isolated incident. To be honest, I am quite surprised I have not seen any other comments on this issue yet. This is a well documented "feature" that I am aware the flex programming team is looking into.

In the interim, you don't even need to turn it on or off, although that works.  just the slightest adjustment and it becomes operational.  We are hoping to see this fixed soon

Well documented where? This is a fairly serious bug in a basic system. I review posts to this community daily and have not seen this issue mentioned. It explains some poor performance I have noticed recently.

After restarting the radio ( normal power off>on), I can replicate the DEXP initalization defect on my 6500/1.10.8.  I have not been able to verify the Proc init defect.

The PROC seems to be enabled, but the low end frequency response is heavily attenuated until which time the PROC button is toggled on and off. Listen to yourself closely on another radio, or in full duplex mode, and you will hear the difference.

I also have not seen this issue mentioned anywhere, and I also check this site on a regular basis.

One would think the Alpha testers would have caught this before it went to Beta release.

@K2CB. it was caught and noted as a defect during the Alpha testing But it has yet to be fixed in any beta test releases. Likely will be fixed before final Release Candudate

Then it should have been in the release notes, under "known issues", no?

There are over 4,000. Entries in the bug tracker. Many. Have been squashed. Release notes are with release candidate with and may or may not be updated for Alpha or beta. It takes away from bug fixing to publish release notes every time.
