Is it normal to see the 10mhz external reference?

Is it normal to see the 10mhz external reference I have connected to my 6500 on my pan adapter?    My gut says "duh", but I wanted to make sure their isn't some circuitry or software filtering that should be taking it out.

I concur.  The 6000 is very sensitive and if the external unit is leaking the 10 MHz clocking signal, the radio will receive it.

If I unplug it the signal disappears...  perhaps I have it turned up too much.   did you guys ever get any kind of indicator to tell us if the radio is using the external reference?   How will I know if I've turned it down TOO much?

You should hear a relay click when the 6500 switches from External to Internal ref (at least I do). I can 'hear' my 10Mhz reference as well, I suppose it could be unterminated outputs on my distribution amp?
