maestro low level noise in speakers and headphones

I noticed with either external powered speakers or headphones connected to the Maestro there is a significant low level noise underneath the receive audio. It seems to be independent of AF gain setting and is easiest to hear if AF gain is set to 0, although it is also noticeable when listening for low level CW signals. It is not present with the same powered speakers connected directly to the radio. Is this an artifact of the audio stream compression. This is with the Maestro connected via a 5GHz wireless link with 5 green bars of signal quality.

Are you powering your Maestro with a switching power supply, or power supply with filtering ripple issues?

I've also noticed the low level noise with my headphones attached even when running on USB battery power and MAESTRO is power off. The noise only goes away when the battery is disconnected.

@ Howard do you think it's worth trying to add some ferites to the Maestro Battery cable? I'm using the Polanfo Q5 12000 mahPower Bank battery you recommended by the way....

Welcome to battery quality control issues we discovered when testing different batteries of the same make and model. Ferrites never hurt. So try some.1
