FlexRadio Systems announces the immediate availability of SmartSDR for Windows v1.7.30 for the FLEX-6000 Signature Series SDRs.

This version of SmartSDR for Windows supports the initial release of the Maestro control console for the FLEX-6000.  Since the SmartSDR for Maestro software is a new component of the SmartSDR software ecosystem, as is SmartSDR CAT, the radio firmware and DAX, whenever one component of the ecosystem is released, all of the other components are released as well to keep them synchronized.  This primary new feature of this version of SmartSDR for Windows facilitates the ability to use Maestro and SmartSDR for Windows interchangeably without having to upgrade or downgrade the radio firmware.  Since this release primarily supports the initial release of Maestro, the software changes for SmartSDR for Windows are primarily internal bug fixes and performance optimizations.

The following issues are SmartSDR for Windows specific features:

Updated 60m Band Limits : The 60m band limits for radios TURFed for Spain and Belgium have be updated to reflect the most recent 60m changes allowed by those countries. (Update #3182 and #3246)

Remote Audio State Now Client Persisted: The persistence state for Remote Audio was previously stored in the radio’s database. It is now stored and recalled at the client level. (Update #3455)

BCI High Pass Filter Switch Point Moved: The BCI high pass filter (HPF) switch point was previously set just below 1.8 MHz. When operating at the low end of 160m, the BCI filter would switch out if the Panadapter’s low frequency edge was below the switch point.  The switch point has been moved to 1.7 MHz to provide better reception characteristics when operating CW on 160m.  (Update #3260)

As with any new release, it is recommended that you review the Important Release Details section in the SmartSDR v1.7.30 Release Notes before upgrading. There are several “best practices” recommendations that will facilitate a smooth transition to SmartSDR v1.7.30.
