Solid 13.88 volts at the big Astron iron power supply

Just want to correct the info I previously wrote. As I have a task to get at the terminals of the heavy iron power supplies which are in a cabinet that's not easy to access, I guessed at memory from the last time I checked them.
Just now with a full load (not transmitting) just in receive mode and only powering the Flex6500.
I measured a constant 13.88 volts. Barely a flicker in transmit mode. Cables to rig are heavy with powerpole connectors. I have two of these Astron Power Supplies, one solely for the Flex and the other for all the other 12 volt using equipment.

Anderson Powerpole connectors can be problematic if not crimped perfectly, or not seated in the housings completely. It may look good, and make marginal connection, showing voltage. Best advice, bypass the powerpoles and retest.

Thanks for the note.
I don't trust CRIMP and soldered them. The PS end has soldered ring terminals.

Note, soldered powerpoles may be harder to insert in the housing due to bulk. Again, bypass the powerpoles and retest.

I had a similar problem with an Astron PS. It put out 13.8 volts, but no current (or not enough) to drive the radio.0

I boughthink the proper crimper for the power poles it's been nice.0
