Fonting issue

Flex 6300, running SmartSDR 1.6.21 Windows 10 Pro 64bit.

After reinstalling Windows and updating to W10, gotta do the (W7 to W10 thing) I have the -only see  the bottom half half of the frequency in in the slice and RX -  issue. I went to the site recommended  to download the font and installed it.

No joy. I installed it via double clicking on it, I installed it via font manager, I shut down and restarted the system. I re-downloaded the font.

Something I'm missing? Re-install SmartSDR?

For a sanity check, here's the site:

 http://www.fontpalace.com/font-details/Napa+SF/

Which by the way, if possible, I would suggest that Flex have that font available for down load at FlexRadio Systems, That is a seriously dodgy website, with lots of places to "download now" that install heaven knows what on your system.

I suspect there is some type of security software or some other software package installed on your PC that is preventing the installer from installing the font.

I can't tell from your post if you were finally successful in manually installing the font.

Hi Tim, It appears to be installed correctly, as I can use the font in other applications like notepad.

I also removed and reinstalled smartSDR. So all the pieces are there.

Is there anything related to fonting in the radio itself?

I still can't tell from your description what the problem actually is.  Are you saying that after installing the font manually SmartSDR is not using it?

Correct. After installing the font, it shows up in the fonts, and I can access the font to use it in programs such as notepad.

Let me look into it.  And can you send me a screen capture of the entire SmartSDR console so I can see how it is rendering.

You do not have the correct font installed.  You need NapoliSerial Xlight Regular.

For the issue described above, the SmartSDR for Windows application font did not install with the SmartSDR installer.  This is usually due to a localized issue with the PC where a security suite incorrectly interprets the TrueType font as a possible attack vector and prevents its installation.  In these cases, you need to manually install the "NapoliSerial Xlight Regular" font.

That did the trick Tim, thanks - I was apparently looking at the wrong posts, because there were some links with a different font that I downloaded. . DOH!

Thanks again - the world is once more in harmony! 8^)
