CESSB and PROC control

Member ✭✭
My understanding is that CESSB is integrated into Processor functionality, and is on when PROC is engaged in DX or DX+ mode. If correct, then two questions. One is - Should we not be able to turn off CESSB as a discreet function, and Two - Is CESSB inherently off during AM mode when Processing is engaged. Thanks.

You can turn the Processor off completely, or run it in Normal mode (NOR) and AM sounds great. I usually keep it in NOR for AM. It keeps things more steady without adding much compression effect. My understanding is that CESSB IS the processor, pretty much, and the three different levels of NOR, DX, and DX+ control the degree of enhancement, with DX+ also adding some high boost. I don't recommend either of the two higher settings for AM. If you want to add some additional punch, adjust the TX EQ to bring out more highs, etc.
