I had a great v1.6.17 install, now can I uninstall v1.50?

Install of v1.6.17 went without a hitch. When I opened up DAX v1.6.17 and v1.50 opened. Can I uninstall v1.50 without comprising my v1.6.17 installations?

I think the answer is YES.. Just make sure you do not uninstall the DAX drivers when you get to that option.

The release notes for v1.6 do not directly address deleting older versions after install but do address using older versions after installing v1.6 and deleting older versions prior to install of 1.6. It seems as if v1.6 is a new starting point and if it is working fine, it would be a version to retain once 1.7 arrives and not versions previous to it. If my 1.6 install goes well, then I am planning to remove all previous versions. It seems to me any concerns about doing so would have been discussed in the 1.6 release notes.0

Actually, the release notes do address this.
In addition to any release specific caveats, there are shared components of the SmartSDR ecosystem used by multiple versions of SmartSDR for Windows. Operationally this typically does not result in any issues, but if a previous version of SmartSDR is uninstalled while there is a newer version installed, the possible removal of one of more of these shared components may make newer versions of SmartSDR inoperable. Therefore if you desire to uninstall older versions of SmartSDR, it is highly recommended that you uninstall all older versions of SmartSDR before installing a new version of SmartSDR.
Roland - at this point since everything is working well on 1.6.17, leave 1.5.0 installed until you plan on doing another upgrade of SmartSDR in the future. No need to make changes to a working system.

I agree Mike, if I do an uninstalled from the control panel, all of v1.5.0 will be removed. I don't think I will get a question about uninstalling the DAX drivers as Al previously mentioned. I renamed the DAX v1.5.0 file so it will not run until I get a more positive response from Flex.0

Ok, that is a good response! v1.5.0 stays put until the next release of v1.60

Thanks for pointing out this error on my part. I need to improve my reading comprehension skills. All good though. This gives me a better understanding on how to install 1.6. Thanks Tim.0

Not many people in this group seem very interested in disk image backups. I always have an image of my OS that is devoid of any vestiges of SmartSDR. Everytime a new version comes out, I use this image to load the latest version of SmartSDR. Since I have been following this method, I never have any thing but the latest version. It has been a wonderful method for me but I can't seem to engender any interest in hard drive images. Windows 7,8, and 10 have a wonderful Imaging program and have never had any problem with it.

1,5 can go as long as it goes BEFORE 1.6 comes on, correct?1
