Chris, did you read this how to guide?
http://www.flexradio.com/downloads/so2r-mode-with-n1mm-for-the-flex-6700-how-to-guide-pdf/
Here is another link in German:
http://www.dl8jj.darc.de/so2r.html
I think it would be the easier way to do SO2R, as connecting a microHAM controller
to a Flex 6k is a bit difficult...I had some problems making a cable for PACTOR,
which I do now with my "old" Flex-3000... 73, Alex DH2ID0 -
Hello Alex, i know this document and it's helpful. But i need/want a software independent solution. Every TRX here has his own automatic AMP and control the antenna switch (10x2). Outside of contest, if i want do a QSO (quick and dirty) i push Power ON at NONE-Flex TRX ( ... and have not wait till PC an SSDR has boot up); and can run. MK2R+ has stored functions keys (separated NUM pad) and some great functions more. That's it.0

Ok, I understand. You could contact DL8JJ and the others on the
net, who have tried or use SO2R with a Flex-6k7... 73 and good
luck with your project! Alex - DH2ID

Chris,
You could go out in the groups.yahoo.com and look at the Microham Reflector. You might be able to find some help there. If you become a member of the reflector you can post a message and hopefully somebody will help you. You might get a response from Joe Subich, who is the moderator of the reflector. He will ask you 2 questions. One will be did you read the instruction manual? and number two will be where did the process stop giving you the response that you were looking for. Best of Luck!0 -
Mark, i am longtime member of this group. Jozef (MicroHam) is good friend of mine. Will do as you propose and also ask Jozef.
First idea was to ask here where the Flex user at home. But most, i think, don't know the MK2R+ or Microham.
Thanks for answer

Got a answer from Joe W4TV:
The only way that microHAM supports Flex is if Flex exposes a serial
port for CAT that emulates a "known" transceiver - for example, TS-870
or TS-2000 - and provides analog audio in/out connections. In that
case the MK2R+ can be configured and connected as if using a real
radio <G>.

microHAM will not support any "radio" that does not have three
features:
1) it must provide a documented control protocol
2) it must provide a hardware serial I/O (RS-232, FIF-232, IF-232
or CI-V)
3) it must provide fixed level analog input and output
Flex fails all three tests. BTW, Elecraft KX3 fails the fixed
level audio I/O test and TenTec Eagle fails the hardware serial
test.
It makes absolutely no sense for microHAM to provide software to
support Flex since the business of microHAM is selling hardware
and Flex needs no hardware since everything is "in the computer."
Don't hold your breath for any Flex support in the "keyer" interfaces
or microHAM Router.
The only Flex integration would be in micro2R (WinKey, headphone and
mic/PTT switching) and Station Master (band decoder). That can be
done now in conjunction with the Flex DDUtil 3 software. One could
probably combine micro2R, Digikeyer II, and 2xSM for SO2R operation
with Flex and a traditional transceiver but doing so is left as an
exercise for the user.

Hello Chris,
I got a similar answer from Joe many month ago - with the same question.
I asked him to delete the thread because it was so annoying and he did.
SDR is the dead of microham interfaces because all is done inside the PC !
I used many years the mk2r+ and the station-master - times have changed......

Gentlemen
You will be happy to know that you don't need any interface device to do SO2R with the Flex 6700. You don't need Joe.
I just did SS CW and plan on doing SS Phone this weekend all SO2R.
I sold my MK2R+ and leave the computer on 24/7. No waiting....
And with the Maestro...no waiting.
I run my external devices (filters, antenna switching and combiners) using UDP from N1MM Plus.

likewise .. sold my MK2R .. my Microkeyer II and my Microham USB 3
I key the Flex from N1MM macros .. no need for any keyers
I was going to buy a station master but I have held off until I see 4O3A and the SO2 controller

Hi Craig, sounds good.
In moment i have 2x Icom TRX, 2x PA, 1x DounleTen antenna switch and 2x 6 band BPF. The are all managed by the MK2R+. Also the MK2R+ manage my headphone (left ear = TRX1; right ear=TRX2; in case of transmit both ear are on RX TRX); manage me my function key memories in CW and SSB; CW speed management (different speed in on transmission) , CW character managment (599 -> 5NN) and some useful functions more
So it will be great if SSDR and Flex6 do the same job. I will sale my 2x Icom, the MK2R+ and ....
I case of problems or question i will contact you.
