PowerSDR with DAX

Having just sent in my FLEX6300 for a traded up to a new 6500, I decided reinstall PowerSDR Ver 2.7.2 for my FLEX-1500 which I had not used for over a year.

Normally I would use VAC 4.09 for my external digital applications.  Rather than reinstall VAC, I took a chance to see if DAX would work with PSDR.

It works!  I now have my old FLEX-1500 running for the first time at 96 KHz sampling rate with out any problems.  So far I have only tested it with WSJT digital modes, but I suspect it will work as well with any of the other digital modes.

Has anyone else tried it?

I may be skirting your question since I'm using a Creative Labs sound card for input and output rather than DAX, as yours is configured, but I've set my Flex 1500 up for 192kbps sample rate and 1024 buffer.  It seems to be a happy camper with these settings.

    Javier,
What logging program are you using, if any?

    Mike,

I am using the Ham Radio Deluxe V5.24.0.36, with JTAlertX to log all the WSJT mode QSOs.

    More to your point:

       Official Response

DAX is a value added feature for the FLEX-6000 and is not available for use with other radios.

It seems that you've stumbled upon an "unsupported" feature of DAX

I haven't tried DAX with my 1500 yet, but I have eliminated com0com and/or VspManager and now use shared virtual serial ports created with SmartCAT.  They work perfectly on both the 6500 and 1500.  Later this weekend I will try to activate one of my unused DAX channels (5-8) and try it with my 1500.
