Softether.net help

I have been successful at getting my office laptop (Vista) connected to my home network via Softether.net.  I can run SSDR, but it is a slow connection and loses connection often.

But I cannot seem to get a VPN connection using my iPad Air.
It says "The VPN Server didn't respond."

Other times, using different definitions it says "Can't find VPN Node"  or something like that.

I have tried L2TP, IPSec, and other types of connection and nothing seems to work.

Anyone have a simple set of parameters that will get me gong?  I want to try Stu's new iPad Remote program....

Softether will not work just by opening up port 5555 for an iPad.  You do have to open up a few more port to allow it to work.

Softether supports L2TP from an iPad.  I'll have to find the 2 other ports you need to make it play, but I don't have it handy until later today when I can get onto my firewall.

    Hi Ken

I just checked, and i have UDP 500 and UDP 4500 forwarded to the computer with Softether running.

You'll have to check the Softether documentation for doing an L2TP connection from an iPad.  I think you'll find that discussed in this forum somewhere here already.
