DStar on Flex 6300 question about slow data modes ...

I am new to DStar and have only been using it since the 1.5 SmartSDR update for my 6300.  So far (aside from operator errors hihi) it has worked real well.  I am really impressed with the quality of the DV audio compared to FreeDV.  And I have made many DV contacts via local DStar repeaters and a few on HF.

The 'D-STAR Waveform How To Guide.pdf' says :  "D-STAR has several Slow Data modes of which the D-STAR Waveform only supports message and header slow data. Other slow data modes may be supported later.

Currently I operate DStar with my 6300 on 2mtrs and HF on voice mode.  I assume I can NOT, at this time, use the DRats program to send ANY data with my Flex 6300 + DV3000U USB stick.

I wanted to clarify this because I am NOT totally sure what "message and header slow data" totally means.

Any comments are welcome!
