maestro close to release?? Waters and Stanton pics
Following our visit to Elecraft, Peter Waters G3OJV and Justin Johnson, G0KSC took in a visit to Flex Radio to pick up the first of the production Flex Maestros ahead of the Newark Show.
In the photo below, the original prototype version (which was 3D printed and shown at Dayton) is above the release version which sports the production knobs and dials.
Euro representative Klaus will be in Newark and flying in from Germany to demonstrate the Maestro for all to see.
Second photo (Left to right) Production manager Steve, shows Justin Johnson, G0KSC, Peter Waters, G3OJV and Gerald Youngblood, K5SDR (Flex Radio CEO) around the quality control section of the manufacturing facility in Austin Texas.
The Flex facility is extremely impressive and unlike many manufacturers, all Flex radios are fully built and assembled in the USA.
If you want to see the latest in SDR radio and talk to people that know what they are talking about on the subject, come visit W&S at Newark!

There's just something about a guy in a lab coat and shorts.

Did somebody mix up the MOX and ATU buttons? MOX Bypass doesn't make much sense.0

...unless the lab coats are anti-static.

Yes , on the upper unit, the ATU button is on the right with the bypass label below it, which makes sense. But on the lower unit the ATU button is on the left, away from bypass label. Stuffing error, I presume.0

They are. You cannot be on the floor without one0 -
Good procedure. Now, about those buttons?0
-
Yes, they mixed up the buttons. That is a complete mechanical preproduction unit that was hand assembled to check fit and finish so that we could release plastics to production. The working unit above it is assembled correctly.2
