Recording audio issue

I'm trying to record some audio for interference I'm having. But I seem to have fallen down a black hole, because I thought it would be simple.
I've downloaded audacity, and set up to record using Windows WASAPI, DAX Reserved  Audio RX 1(loopback), mono file and at the moment Headphones out.

But nothing is happening and no sound recorded. - am I better off to just run a cable from the headphone output to another computer and record that? Seems odd there is no more direct way to do that - and when that happens, I'm usually doing something dumb.

Don't use the "reserved" DAX channels.

Another option I have used is BB Flashback  Express. It will record the audio and screen which provides even more information. You can also easily upload to Youtube or other places to make sharing easier.

If you switch to "REMOTE" mode, you will be able to use any windows audio capture program.
I've used SNAGIT to capture Audio/Video easily that way.

Yup - that did it. In the end, I used MME, DAX audio RX 1, and it worked FB.

Those other settings were from some other places, and turn out to b bad advice.

    Thanks a million!
