Has Anyone Used PC-ALE (Automatic Link Establishment software) With a 6000 Series Radio?

If so, what radio model do you choose in the v1.08 PC-ALE dropdown box configuration?

I seem to be fine remotely changing the frequency, but other functions appear unresponsive on the radio.

Thanks!

Hi Mark, I had it running and I remember I used either TS-2000 or TS-480. As I am still in Scotland I can't verify. Will be back Saturday. 73 Alex, DH2ID

I have use PC-ALE with a Flex 6500 .  You can use either the Kenwood radio settings and or the Flex Radio settings . If you have it scanning you have communication between the Flex and the software. Is PTT working ?

Thanks Alex.  Enjoy your travels and I'll get some time to try those options.

Thanks much, Andrew, for your reply.  I know the CAT seems to be working to some degree, because scanning is successful.  However, I got some failure messages (which I don't have on hand at the moment).  I'll get those and reply with the error messages.

I'm very encouraged that other Flex 6000 series owners have had success.  From the 100,000' view, it seems like being able to concurrently monitor multiple frequencies/bands would be a an excellent capability for automatic link establishment.

I hope to get more time to geek out this weekend, and look forward to providing those error codes.

The failure message you are getting my be the common one where PC-ALE reports a .dat file is missing.  If that is the case, there is a easy fix...let me know and I'll send the instructions for fixing it.

Your observation about ALE and an SDR's ability to monitor several frequencies was exactly my reaction when I first used PC-ALE with a Flex 6500.  I passed my comments along to the PC-ALE developer but he does not anticipate any changes to PC-ALE that would take in to account the different capabilities of an SDR.

That is a shame.  He could eliminate CAT too in addition to taking advantage of the multiple receivers.

Hi @"John WA7UAR" , I just attempted to send you a DM as well but I just created a profile to do so and it says I don't have permission to DM you (maybe i'm too new). Could I also get any setup instructions you may have?
