hi
thank you i was thinking it is Lenovo but what model Y70??? WHO KNOW ?0 -
Elan - Hope all is well. I've left FlexRadio so I don't have access to the laptop any more but it was a Lenovo Y70 family 15" with an i7 and nVidia GTX750 mobile graphics chip. It's a UHD "4K" display that I was frankly disappointed with because of these tired old eyes of mine. I purchased it to show off the 4K capability of SmartSDR and it does a fine job of that. For my personal use, I would have returned it for a 17" 1920x1080P display unit.
I will tell you that the unit has 1 issue that caused me grief on Wireless LAN at my house: The Intel WIFI AC module that came with the unit has a serious problem of stuttering and dropping packets with no warning. The Gamer community has been very harsh on Intel because of this issue. I haven't looked to see if a workaround was ever finished. My choices were to **** the case and replace the module or purchase an external USB/WIFI dongle. I found a nice CISCO USB3/WIFI AC dongle that worked excellently. That's what I shot the video with.
Overall, I liked the Lenovo with the 2 exceptions listed above.

I briefly had a Y70 before I returned it in favor of an Acer Nitro Black Edition. The WiFi issue Greg mentioned plagued the Y70 i had as well. I was able to mitigate it by updating drivers and uninstalling the Cloud software it came preinstalled with. Still was not happy with the WiFi performance though. Dave wo2x0
