How to play pre-recorded messages with a Flex 6300

I'm trying to use the F-key messages in N1MM to send a pre-recorded 'CQ' in ssb. I normally operate cw so I'm not familiar with this speaky stuff, but I do have a message recorded manually in the correct place and it plays ok through the line-out of the pc.
I've connected this to pin 1 of the rear Acc connector but my problem is getting this audio to drive the radio (ptt is fine). As I understand the manual I should be able to turn on +ACC in the Transmit Control Panel while having the primary audio source set to MIC - this way I can press F1 to voice my CQ message via Line In of the Accessory socket and then reply with the mike but it doesn't work. If I set the primary audio source to ACC it works fine but that's pretty useless.
Maybe I've missed something simple..?

First It makes absolutely no sense to take the audio physically out of your computer (N1MM+) to insert it back into the radio The audio is already in electronic form inside the computer so all you need to do is transfer them internally inside the computer Suggest you read my tutorial on Contest Voice Keyer https://www.dropbox.com/s/znrb61i5b57mrtt/Contest Voice Keyer for SmartSDR.pdf?dl=00
