1.4.11 Focus Helper Kills CWX

Focus Helper had worked fine until I tried it with 1.4.11 today. Now focus will not hold in the CWX entry window. Instead it jumps to my Logging program which runs in another monitor. To type into the keyboard window on CWX I must disable Focus Helper.

I noticed this issue with CWX when "Focus" first was available....  Consequently I don't use Focus.  It would be nice if that wasn't the case and I expect Flex will address this quirk when they have a chance....

It would be nice if SSDR would temporarily disable Focus Helper while in "edit CWX" mode and enable it again when finished editing CWX.  There are a few other functions that this would help as well.

We discussed this in issue review today and our impression is that using focus return and CWX are largely incompatible -- you should decide if you want to use the logger for everything (and then send CW there) or you should keep focus in SmartSDR.  If there are a lot of dissenting reports, we can discuss this, but we'd like to understand the use cases better.

Hi Steve, in my case I double click on the DX station in the logger bandmap (DX4WIN), the radio jumps to the DX contact, I send my call via CWX, get a RST from the DX station, I send my RST via CWX and then press the return key to log the DX contact....  That's what I'd like to do if Focus worked with CWX.  It doesn't so I don't use Focus so I have to use the mouse to click back in the SSDR window so I can use CWX to call and replay....  Dennis, k0eoo.  Thanks for all the great work you guys do!!

I don't see how that would ever work since once you click on the log program you've lost focus with Ssdr and CWX so your Function keys won't work. I believe Steve is right about needing to use the keyer in your log program instead of CWX.

Many programs, at least N1MM plus, will allow you to link to CWX and send those memories from the logger. There is a link on the community on how to do that. Unfortunately N3FJP's logger and contest programs won't do it.
