When will the 1500 be properly remote capable over a network

I want to purchase a radio which can be operated from my living room.  I don't want to have to use complicated third party buggy software.  I am very interested in SDR but most of all I want to be able to assess my radio remotely.

I have an 1500. I asked that same question. Flex would not acknowledge or deny if they are working on a QADRI to be networked like their signature series. I just purchased an Apache Labs Anam 10e. It is network addressable. Cheatham in New Jersey has the best price on them still keeping my Flex 1500

Look at the Flex 6xxx series of radios. They offer the capability that you are looking for. SmartSDR will find the radio on your home network without doing anything special, it is designed to work anywhere on your home network. Then, if you install VPN (comes with most Windows), you can operate from anywhere in the world. I have VPN on my network and can operate my FLex from anowhere that I can get good internet.

The 1500 is discontinued. It does not and never will have the hardware, Lan.
I have operated an Anan over the net, but it is nothing as slick as the Flex 6xxx radios for remote. Actually, nothing is.

K2CM-- thanks for the reply. I thought not.. but the 1500 will be a good entry level SDR for me to play with. Right now I'm in ariz running a TS480 over the internet to my station in rural washington. works great. here's a lnk: http://www.valhallatreefarm.com/WB7ELY/newprojects.htm
