Has anyone managed to run fldigi via remote with 1.4.3? I am decoding ok, but skeptical about TX!

Have an i5 new Lenovo and a FlexRadio 6300 with no DAX. Using Apple EarPods with inline mic which seem to work better than Heil headset and sound as good as Bose. But I seem to be running out of switches and virtual connection to get the job done right. Without the EarPods, it seems like the Lenova mic is picking up the computer speakers to complete my audio path. I think I need a good u tube model for guidance! Thanks.

    Bill,
To my way of thinking, DAX was made for running fldigi remote..  The Remote function just allows you to hear the audio on the remote speakers but is NOT required for decode/encode if you have DAX configured.

I ran FLDigi remotely using SmartSDR v1.3.8 without the remote features added in v1.4.x.

DAX is intended for digital mode operations and bypasses much of the audio processing (such as the equalizer) that is used for voice operations. The remote feature in SmartSDR v1.4.x allows you to send audio to/from the radio without using DAX and therefore have all of the audio processing available for voice operations. A digital mode such as  FLDigi uses DAX to transfer audio to/from the radio and does not need the remotes features added in SmartSDR v1.4.x.

Since no hardware connections are required for connecting a digital mode program to SmartSDR, it makes no difference whether the computer used is a desktop sitting next to the radio in your shack or a laptop operated from the comfort your recliner in the living room.

I posted a solution to this weeks ago. It works great. I've been in a hotel using this solution to do digital all week.   I specifically did this to run it via WAN over a slow connection, but there is no reason this couldn't be used inside the LAN when DAX cannot be used.
