Mouse Wheel Functionality
There have been several requests for this and I would like to propose it again and hope that those who have requested this feature before can like it or 'me too' it.
I would like SSDR to mirror common/normal windows behaviour in that if the mouse cursor is over a slider, I'd like the mouse wheel to move it. It is fiddly to move the sliders by clicking on them and clicking either side of the slider button only works in a very narrow horizontal area and can be hit and miss.
If for no other reason, I would like this feature as I am so used to using it with other programs I keep trying to do it in SSDR and end up moving my slice.

I agree Guy. I've always thought it should work like that with the sliders.

Yes, that would be a very nice feature.1
-
in the meantime, y'all know "Page Up" and "Page Down" will increment most sliders, right? 73

Really?0

yup...i find display / gain tends to be hair trigger sensitive on a noisy band..put mouse cursor over gain, try page up / page down...get the waterfall useful..
unless you're kidding??

The page up/down is a good interim, but I'd still prefer the mouse hover feature.

Thanks for the page up/down tip. I am brand new to Flex with the 6500 and trying to learn its features. Yes I would like the mouse wheel to do more than tune the band.

Son of a Gun! I never discovered the PU/PD trick in two years! It works great. CLick on a slider and then PU/PD Thanks!
Also...I just discovered.....When adjusting the RX/TX EQ Sliders, you can click on the first one (63) use the PU/PD to adjust it, then hit the TAB and it moves you to the next one on the right! Then you can bump that one up or down, and repeat until you get to the last EQ slider. SHIFT+TAB will take you back to the one on the left, too. That will speed things up here!

Ken, I use TAB and TAB-SHIFT when filling in forms online. Nice catch with EQ use though.1

Same here on filling out forms. That's what gave me the idea to try it here! I feel a bit dense, however, not having discovered the PU/PD trick in the first place. I guess there's always something new to learn! I wonder what other new tricks I can discover...?

I'm sorry, I really thought everyone else was aware of PU/PD and just didn't like it.
Perhaps, we can all be more revealing about the secrets we find in the future.
Just let me know which secrets your unaware of.

I've been investigating a bit ... is there no way to incrementally step-change frequency via the keyboard?0
-
I'd be interested in that secret too.
Sharing secrets is a lot like, not keeping secrets.

If you are referring to tuning up or down by the tune step value, the answer is no.0

using the behringer micro cmd midi controller with willam hemingsens's software is really amazing, IMHO..
it IS way way down the list, in this forum...but the price is right..MUCH more functionality than the flex control, for me..
2 big knobs ( vfo a and b ), 3 pots, 5 sliders, 20 buttons...
SO nice to not have to use the mouse for every darn thing..

( all my flex control is used for here is an expensive RIT...)

100% agree with the OP's comments, and would very much like to see this implemented too..
And as part of this, include the functionality that is in PowerSDR where that when you hover over a digit of a slice receiver frequency display that rolling the mouse wheel increments that digit.1 -
I too would love to be able to tune with my keyboard maybe using the Left & right arrow keys?
I also find that it's hard to move the sliders with my mouse because you have to get your cursor exactly on the top half of the round slider buttons ( The Volume slider seems to be the worst). If the area could be at least the entire area of the slider button that would make things a bit easier.1 -
That's pretty good Jay...!

PowerSDR shows how to tune by mouse wheel.0

We've probably all watched, at least one, IronMan movie, right? How much do you suppose some developer could charge for software that would interpret thumb-index finger compress, expand, circle right, circle left, and swipe (left or right)? I am only being a little bit tongue-in-cheek here. Hook up an inexpensive Foscam / nanny cam and detect and interpret hand motion.

Is that something that can be added in the future? Maybe a "Keyboard Mode" or something?0
