Flex 6700 all of a sudden started to step down the band on its own.

Flex 6700 all of a sudden started to step down the band on its own. Have not found a way to stop it and it will just continue to step down in Frequency . I have pulled the Flex Knob, that made no difference. Then I shut down the 6700 also with no change on the restart, then did a cold restart, still on restart it started to step again. My last attempt was a cold restart (shut down the 12 volt input power) and a reset to factory defaults, still no change. So I am going to bed and try again when I get up. Has anyone had this problem?

Check the front panel mic connector, too. Shorted pin can cause that.

Thank You George, I pulled the Mic connector and it stopped stepping. I don't understand it but I will gladly accept the "FIX". I did use my Headset/Mic for something else yesterday, and I guess when I put it back on the 6700 it did not seat right. However its working fine now.
Also Mike thanks for your input, when your lost in the woods all help is appreciated.

I had the same problem when I tried to use my Heil headset with a Kenwood cable not the Yaesu one.
