VFO Locking

I'm new to SmartSDR (but SDR vet) and I am trying to get SmartSDR to behave with WSJT-X v 1.4.0rc2. I understand that in order to use this version with SSDR(1.3.8) VFO B must be activated or else the CAT does not function. That is OK but if I use WSJT-X to change to a different band, the WSJT-X CAT stops working because the VFO B has been rendered inactive or something. I need a way to lock VFO B to VFO A so that when changing band on WSJT-X, VFO B follows and does not drop the CAT connection.

Any solutions to this?

I don't know what your setup is, but I operate WSJT-X with VFO (slice) A.  On my setup, the SmartCAT follows A.  I also fix DAX channel 1 to A and configure WSJT-X to use DAX channel 1.

I also find it convenient to forego letting it control the rig (because some other bit of software usually does).  You just have to remember to set the 'band' indicator by hand on wsjt-x and then hand log the QSOs or figure out how to "migrate" the wsjt-x log entries.

Considering the speeds involved, logging is not a big issue.  I have an extra SmartCAT virtual port set up for PTT control and WSJT-X is configured to use it.

Mind you, I can let it control the rig, but I just don't find it handy.

    Nige,
I have a 6500/not sure which you have.. 6300 may be different..
On my 6500, WSJT-x 1.4 is happy with just Slice A, Slice A&B,  or Slices A,B and ( C and/or D).  It is unhappy with Slice A  and (C and/or D):  no slice B..  Slice B just needs to be active on some frequency. if I have C or D also active.

    YMMV
