SmartSDR crashing on shutdown

radio: 6500 SmartSDR v1.3.8 Dell Precision 490 Xeon CPU E5345 CPU spd 2.27GHz OS windows XP Pro (i know, it's no longer supported)

for the past 2 wks whenever i shut SmartSDR down it crashes in that i get all kinds of exception errors. radio appears to be working fine. i have shut down all power, reset radio to factory defaults and reloaded SmartSDR. when i start SmartSDR it's like it has reverted to the first time i ran it however it works just fine, usually, after i load whatever profile i want. i have captured a screen shot of the error messages but i don't see any way to attach them to this post.
the PC is 9 yrs old this year and i have had some issues with it lately so that may be the problem in which case i will upgrade to new PC/OS but i want to be sure it isn't the radio itself. BTW the messages i get are "An unhandled error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object". thanks

The issue is resolved.  The SmartSDR for Windows app configuration file was corrupted.  Deleting it so a new default one could be created resolved the issue.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
