CW sidetone to DaX Channel

Using a DaX channel to listen to a slice on the PC, when in CW mode and keying the rig (Flex) the side-tone isn't propagated to the DaX channel. Is it safe to assume this is expected behavior until SSDR-1.4 arrives?
A design note to consider (with all due respect):
If the keyer (bug) is plugged into the Flex and being used then the side tone should be sent to the DaX channel. The thought is if a PC App is being used for further audio filtering whilst in CW mode, the side-tone will be required, even though operation is not strictly in thin-client mode.

Are we sure this is wanted? This amounts in the end to a frequency shift of the channel. Does software like CW skimmer want this? Are there other bits of software out there that take an audio stream like this and add the side tone themselves?

I agree, DAX should not be an "operator mode" for human ears (yes, we've all tried it). It should be optimized for external applications (software).0

Hi Larry I can see how CW skimmer wouldn't care much for hearing the xmit sidetone. A good point! Enabling ST for a particular DaX channel would be a requirement. The ST amounting to a frequency shift eludes me. Thanks for your comment!0

I must be missing something.. Where does one tap into the Flex architecture to work with digital audio streams for 3rd party processing. Let's say I wish to use a Boost on SSB and some extra filtering on the output audio stream before dumping it to the speaker. How does one accomplish this? The dax channel seems perfect but with cw mode there is no side tone to listen to. I apologize for not being clear in this posting, it would be better to meet on the air and discuss!0
