S-meter funkyness

Not a biggie, but recently I noticed that my S meter sometimes reads 9 + 60dB with backgound noise only. The noise level is constant and no way that bad. If I change band and then back again, it reads its 'normal' level. Once reset, it stays set. The +60 reading is on first starting SSDR IIRC.

I tend to turn on my PC and sometimes can leave it a while before loading SSDR and using the radio. This is the main situation when I notice the most little issues with DAX etc.

Did you try pecking on the meter? :*)

    Hi Steve

Do you mean clicking on it? Is this a known issue or something I have missed?

    Thanks

Sorry....I was attempting humor. Pecking on stuck meters used to be the cure for the needle stuck at max.
    I haven't heard of this issue before....Seriously.
Changing bands does activate relays so let's hope it isn't a bad relay.

Ah, 'two peoples separated by a common language' as they say. You got me to smile at it anyway.

With best wishes from a cold and icy London.
