Flex Control driver problem

I'm running PowerSDR with my 5000 on an Intel i7 machine 8GB RAM W7 64bit. It's been running great for years. I recently purchased a Flex Control Knob. When the driver loads my mouse slows down to a crawl. At first I wasn't sure if it was the FC driver, so I removed the driver and the problem went away. After a day with no mouse problem I installed the Flex Control driver again, and the mouse slowed down again. I did try changing the COM port to COM30 and restarted, but the slow down persists. I have once again removed the driver and my mouse is working again. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

First if your using a USB hub this will happen. If not then simply try a different port. If that does not do it check to make sure they are not using IRQ in you computer.

Is by chance your mouse a USB device?  If so then you are probably using the same USB controller for both.  Try moving the mouse to a different USB port.
