RF Power meter and slider

Is the power output slider and the power output meter supposed to agree? The RF meter and the meter on the ATU agree. I am currently on 80M, DIGU JT65. 100 on the slider gives 60-80W output on the meter. I noticed this as I increased the power slider to 40 and got output readings of 20W.

No significant voltage drop measured by DDUtil at 62 on slider, under 40 on meter.

Has the low power issue on digimodes been fixed? I do not recall seeing it in the release notes

I believe the slider is in percentage not powr output like the power meter.

One thing I do know is you can't get 100 watts out of these rigs. About 90 to 95 is tops. I have no idea why but I thought it was supposed to be fixed in one of the software updates.

    Guy,

The RF output is regulated first with the  RF Power slider (maybe set to max RF required)   and then by the Audio or DAX level..   You DO NOT want the peak audio level to go Red at max,  just to the Red,  That's the peak in the level.   Adjust the DAX TX level for the RF output without going over into the Red in the Level meter..    So you could have the RF power at 100,  and adjust the DAX TX meter to give you 40 watts output in the RF Power meter..   That way the Audio level would be well below max not in the Red ,  and the IMD should be as good as it possibly can due to you will be driving the PA far less than full output..

Make sure that Proc and EQ are off if you are using USB instead of DigU  mode.

    Guy,
What is the max power output you can get at MAX TUN power ( same band, load conditions)?

    40% of 100 watts = 40 watts

I get 100 watts PEP on SSB all the time. Measured on a BIRD watt meter into a 50 ohm dummy load, shows the same output on my Hexbeam. Works the DX like mad! Barefoot....

I'm getting 95 watts into a dummy load on my LDG AT-1000 with the external meter.
