Worthless flex 5000 (fully loaded) up for grabs

Geez, all that praise about the 6000's -- I had to stir the **** a little.....0
-
Why? Just makes you look silly.3
-
Jon -- thanks for the realistic market value. I'm not attacking Flex. Just stirring the **** a little for the 5000. I really love my 5000, but really would like to upgrade to a 6700 without having to go outside Flex and paying the full price, when I have a perfectly good trade.0

Nah, look at all the posts. Look at what it brought out of the woodwork!
It was a fun discussion and it might actually get Flex to think about it, even a little bit. I'll bet I could build a financial model that would prove it to be a win-win for them.
If you don't ask, you don't get.....but you have to be brave enough to ask.
Gerald? Gerald?0 -
Ha ha Jon, you took the bait. What's wrong with having a 7 call?0
-
Jon: Do you really need two radios? Why not donate your 5000 and set the example for us all...0

Bradley you are a Troll. Period.
If you have a commercial discussion for FRS you could have done it privately for yourself - instead you went Troll. You should be ashamed, but of course as a self-justifying Troll you aren't.
My advice to anyone dealing with a person like you is always this:
"Those of us who have had to moderate and sysop know there are a few truisms that are absolutes.
A Troll is a Troll, period. No Excuses, No Higher Good Justification, as a Troll is always a Troll.
Like dog poo where there is no clean end to pick it up, a Troll and Their Threads are toxic, make the place smell if you don't clean it up, and by cleaning one means agressive and decisively. Delete Troll Threads and Cut off without discussion the Troll. Cancel their ticket into your world.
Agressive Trolls require non-public Agressive Responses. Get a court order if needed. If they spawn additional identities clamp your system down to moderate everything - new users, new posts, comments/replies.
Never enter into private email discussions with a Troll, unless by doing so you can keep them occupied or need to do so to ID the troll.
Never retaliate, never engage Trolls - there is no way to handle a Troll or Troll thread without getting "soiled" yourself.
Ignore them, ignore them, ignore them.
If there is a commercial link with a Troll, sever it. If one could happen, don't sell to them - ever. They have shown up front they will be a "bad customer" - in the Gold/Silver/Bronze segmentation of customer types they have already self-selected "lead" as their customer segment - the ones who will drag you down and are best to lose to your competitors. Let them deal with the Troll.
Exhibit benevolant ownership's perogative and polietly ignore any regular user expressive sympathy to a Troll. They can go pay for their own site/forum/BBS/system/servers if they want to hang with a Troll.
Don't bother trying to analyse why someone Trolls online. Unless you know them personally in a real eyeball-to-eyeball contact sort of way, you can never really tell.
Never forget the Golden Rule, but also don't take any ****.
And of course the good old maxium - nothing is absolute, as "it depends" is the respons to the shades of gray most human interactions have. Adapt and hold to principles, but not so slavishly that your become inhuman and unfeeling in the process.
So in the end, delete the Troll, delete their Troll droppings (posts and threads), and never sell to them if you can. "
Email me if you really want to sell your 5000, as another brand of radio deserves you as their customer.

Hi Steve, I agree with you 100%, but one person's trolling is another's firmly expressed view. Too may sysops have their forums so sanitised that they are boring. OTOH, the OP is a Troll.

Could not disagree with you more Guy, as a Troll is a Troll is a Troll.
They are also not amusing or engaging. Better boring that Troll Infested.
There are lots of great Troll Havens, but they don't play their games there because they are only happy if they bother others.
As they say, do you know "Why do Trolls smell bad? It is so the bling can hate them too!"
No half ways on dealing with Trolls.

I'm good on QRZ. Send it to me. I will even pay shipping once it arrives.0
-
I'll make you an offer - - 200 dollars is better than selling it for scrap metal!
Although, I sold my F1k, F1.5K F3K & F5K -- Now I could use a F5K for nostalgia sake.

Flex 5000's are easy to sell, they go pretty quick. Why not just sell it, and buy a new Flex ?
