    SmartSDR 1.4 Release Status

    Looking at the release schedule plan, SmartSDR 1.4 is scheduled to release sometime in October. Given that October is just around the corner and 1.3 was released a bit late, is Flex still on schedule to release 1.4 in October? What is the estimated availability date?

      Could be a while longer, a maintenance release for 1.3 has just gone alpha.

      Typically it is released at the end of the stated  month unless there is a delay such as we had with the last 1.3.... any maintenance releases usually have no bearing on the roadmap releases...Maintenance releases are bug fixes and roadmap releases are new features.... Huge difference.

      I did not realise the two versions were developed in parallel. That is good to know.

      At this time, we are on schedule for an end of October release.

      That's great news! I still have a FLEX-5000A but will make the move to a FLEX-6700 very soon and I'm already excited to use it...hi!

      No, it will be delayed in order to better support the feature set, Flex is moving away from time-based releases. Future updates will appear as the software is ready.

      Due to the need for additional testing of the two core features, FM and LAN Remote, the release date for v1.4 has been delayed.  We hope that this delay will only be about a month, but the actual release date will be when these features are stable enough to release.
