HOW DO I STOP SmartSDR from starting in 'WIDE' mode

About half the time I start SSDR, it starts in 'WIDE'. I mean just one slice but it consumes two line in the Smart screen.
it's covering more frequency band width.
So far the only way I can stop it is to close the slice and reopen it.
Open to suggestions/ please

The WIDE indicator indicates that you have a panadapter open or you have a slice that exceeds or is outside of the frequency width of the preselector bandwidth.

I forgot to explain that this was in WSJT-x and yes I understood that the slice was too big a band segment.
But I don't know how it's gets like that, now can I easily narrow the band segment. At least I haven't found the method to do that.
For some reason SSDR does not always OPEN with the settings it was previously CLOSED with.
I'm sure it's some sort of operator error, but haven't found the antidote.
Most of the time it's opens with normally, the other half of the time it's a bear to get everything back to the way it was.
Not used to that as PSDR is so well behaved and opens precisely as it was when closed.

Thanks Tim, I had a real good night last night, knocking off wsjt stations one after another.
But I haven't been able to get it back to fitting on the screen this am. LOL

Lately it takes me longer and longer to remember all little details on changing screens, filter settings etc.

Constantly going back to the print out on the wall of setting .jpgs LOL
    thanks again...

    Zoom in the panadapter

BTW, having the panadapter in WIDE mode does not degrade your reception unless you have a very strong RF signal source near by (like an AM radio station)
