Filter Behavior in DIGU Versus USB
Jerry Gardner
Member ✭✭
When I'm in USB mode, and change the filter width, the filter always changes by expanding or contracting at the high end. The low end stays anchored.
When I change filter width in DIGU mode, the filter expands or contracts on both sides at once.
Is this intended behavior? It's almost never what I want the filters to do in digital modes and it would be nice to have a configuration option to set how they behave.

Yes, it is the intended behavior of the DIGx filters. DIGx modes use an ASFK offset and the default is currently set to center the filters at 1500 Hz. If your digital mode program has a "sweet spot (Fldigi) or a macro to do an auto offset, set these at 1500 Hz and your digital mode signal of interest will be in the center of the radio's filter.
Eventually this will be configurable.

Tim,
Thanks. That behavior makes perfect sense.0
