Interference on 20 meters NON-WIDE

I just received my 6700 yesterday and am having a lot of fun with it.  I am overall very impressed with its performance, but I encountered an oddity.  With just one panadapter open on 20 meters, ANT 1, 0dB gain, I am getting interference (obviously modulated) across the band when narrow.  But the interference goes away when I widen the panadapter up enough to get the WIDE indication (and hear a relay click).  I believe this interference may come from some strong local FM or TV broadcasts because if I add an external 30MHz lowpass filter to the antenna path, the interference goes away. (My antenna is an 80m horizontal loop.)  Is it possible the anti-aliasing filter is getting switched out when the bandpass filter is switched in or something like this?  I'll upload some pictures if this is an unknown problem.
