DAX IQ CONNECTIONS

I suffer from the high noise floor problem which pretty much makes things useless.  To correct I have to shut down SSDR and reboot the radio and its power connection.  Once I do that and restart SSDR I can no longer connect to any IQ channels.  The channel number lights up but there is no data throughput.  So now every time this happens it seems I have to completely reboot the computer to get things working again if I want to use the IQ channels.

Wow, that's really interesting.  I had a really high noise floor this evening.  I was listening to the 6700 and reading through the notes here on this site and came across your post.  I thought it was something running in the neighborhood or some solar flare.  I saw your post and decided to reboot and restart the flex 6700.  It went from 80 to -108.   What the heck is that all about?  This is the first time this has happened to me.  I've had my Flex for a about 5 weeks.

Wonder what it looks like on the panadapter display?   I am getting something last couple of days on some bands about 10db noise band about 3 db wide with noise like signal and looks like AC perhaps 60cycles.   Lasts about 15 seconds and pops in every 10-15 minutes....noticed on 20m cw earlier.   Does that sound like anything you guys have?   I felt like it and still suspect it is a "new kid in town" in the form of an local noise from a power plug switching power supply or something.   No changes here however in my shacks electical but I do have neighbors and power lines nearby, etc.

I often see a 20-30 db increase in the noise level on some bands, but have always attributed it to a neighbor turning on a plasma TV as I've seen it both come and go instantly.

I saw it happen on my 6700 on 160m, however, at the time I realized the "WIDE" was displayed thus no bandpass filtering and I have a 50kw AM radio station (WLS) two miles down the road.  So it was pretty ugly!

The high noise floor issue and the DAX stability issues have been addressed in the next release of SmartSDR.
