I had a Microham MicroKeyer II that I used with an ICOM IC-7800.  I sold the keyer with the IC-7800 because it was so well integrated and I hoped I wouldn't need it with the FLEX-6700 that I ordered.  I used the Microham DB37-IC-8 cable that was manufactured by Microham.  The Microham MicroKeyer II is a very complex and very powerful piece of equipment.  It is certainly possible to fabricate your own cable but with so many inputs and outputs it is not a trivial undertaking.  Microham makes a DB37-FX-5000 cable for use with the FLEX-5000A.  Before the FLEX-6700 was shipping I contacted Microham to see if the DB37-FX-5000 cable would work with both the FLEX-5000 and FLEX-6700, which was not yet shipping.  It seemed that Microham had invested the effort into designing a lot of DB37 cables and they would not share details.  I sold the MicroKeyer II with my IC-7800 on the hopes that I wouldn't need it with the FLEX-6700.  That certainly turned out to be the case.  The Microham MicroKeyer II is a powerful and well engineered piece of hardware but it is not necessary with the FLEX-6000 series radios.

Have you contacted Microham to see if they have a cable now for the FLEX-6000 radios?

Good luck with wiring the DB37 connector.

Tried Micro Ham,  Micro Keyer II  on Flex 6500 and KX3 last week . Wiring went easy (WO2X)

Also added my Signal Link USB to work into the back of the Flex 6500 No Problem.

However  Yes However the DAX works sooooo!!!!  good I found no need to use either.

    Frank:

Check out the post in this thread from Ed Baker.  He built a cable so his Micro Ham Micro Keyer II would work with his FLEX-6500.  If you ask Ed for his wiring details I'm sure that Ed, unlike Micro Ham, would share his FLEX wiring details with you.

Thanks Reg's suggestion, I hope Ed can report a link where to find directions for the construction of a cable Pearl 6000 series, I possess a cable for icom and do not want to destroy it to make one for flex, I tried to connect the MIC via a adapter that I created to change the links to icom mic to flex but I have an echo in my modulation, so I can not use the DVK microHAM.

However, I did a study of the cables, and I have identified that a cable for YAESU FT847 could do to our case, in fact the connector pin to 8-pin microphone is identical to the FlexRadio 6x000 also I have seen that uses the RS-232 protocol thus linking the DB-9 connector to the computer and suitably configured DD-UTIL I think it can also transmit the signal CAT FLEX, what do you think? you could try having a cable ready

Ok on wiring. At my qth Dave wo2x wired the interphase harness from the micro ham to the rear 15 pin on the rear apron of the flex I Have contacted wo2x and asked him to directly contact you on wiring. I am away from my qth and do not have the documentation but I am presently enjoying my boat in warm weather. Forced to use my ic7000 on digi modes Ed np2g

    Hi Frank,

Sorry for delay. Been busy this past week. I was using a DigiKeyer II with the 6500 which uses a DB 15 connector, not the DB-37 connector. I did download the manual for the MicroKeyer II.

Attached are the pinouts from the DB-37 connector to the Flex DB-15HD connector.

I noticed the attachment does not show up to other users.

    here is the pinout

    Signal                     DB-37 (Micorham)         DB-15 (Flex)

    Line In (TX)               18                                   1

    Line Out 1 (RX)         19                                   2

    CW/FSK Key             28                                   4

    Ground                      15                                   5

    PTT In                       27                                  14

Please note - The Flex does not support FSK keying in on pin 4 at this time.
