Idea for CWSkimmer integration with SmartSDR

Thanks, the telnet process seems a bit cumbersome.  Maybe I'm missing something.   Anyway I found another way that seems to work.  I'm using  SoftRock-IF setting and the CAT commands.  

To sync the slice and panadapter frequencies, I press the the one of the zoom controls ( - or + ).   Pressing either the plus or minus will center the slice.  CWS is happy.  I use the  a "plus, minus, plus" sequence to center the slice in the panadapter and return to the original zoom level.  

Not perfect but pretty fast.   If you retune the slice from the radio side (mouse or flexcontrol) or by clicking in CWS, you have to do the "minus, plus, minus" sequence to re-sync.  

Potential Solution - Another option to consider would be to offer a slice tuning option that moved the panadapter display under the slice line keeping them in sync.  In other words, the slice would stay centered in the panadapter and the background would move.  Some  knob radios (e.g. FTDX9000) offer this tuning option.  I think that would fix CWS without a code change at least as a temporary solution.  Some folks may actually like the "keep slice centered" tuning option.     Hope I explained it okay....thoughts?

Al, this will work for me if I can figure out where to set Audio-IF Hz in the skimmer radio setting.. Any suggestions?

The idea of having the slice line stay centered while the panadapter moves with tuning is an excellent one.

I'll post all of my settings in a bit for the current workaround and skimmer setup.   In the mean time here is a snapshot of the other potential solution.  Here is a snapshot of the "CENTER DISPLAY" mode from my FTDX9000.   I can't really take credit for the idea but it would solve the skimmer problem and it is also a nice tuning mode.

Essentially the "active slice" would be centered in the panadpter and the background would move.
