Equalizer Operation

I do not see a 10 db change on the equalizer range, could Flex Radio check and see if the EQ is working as intended? Using EV, RE 20, balanced input,75/2900 tx bandwidth and 1.05 software. I have the 20db boost activated and have tried both the front and rear mic connections. Thanks.

Hello I do not use the internal EQ . When I did the system worked exactly like any EQ. I ran my mike through a mike pre amp. Again not adding the +20 DB boost. I set the level at 40 on the slider which illustrated the peak at the 0 spot on the level meter. It is very possible the mike u are using does not have sufficient output and is starving the flex input . Getting back to basics. 1.) My processed audio into the flex is at 0 DB or .8 v 2.) I do not add any 20 DB boost 3.) I do not add any compression via the radio control panel. And I can go in mike 8 pin, back , balanced , or ,line in. All work correctly depending on what type of output I am providing to the radio from the audio system. a great radio with fantastic audio .

How are you measuring the output to determine what gain you are seeing?

Hello Tim, thanks for the reply. I checked with my 5000a doing on air type test. When I transmit on the 6500 and watch using the histogram display with the 2 k set to 0 I see about 100dbm peak. When I take the slider on the 2k to plus 10 db I see a rise at 2k to about 95dbm. I am not saying it is not working but are we getting + or - 10 db? Thanks, David Gardner

The EQ is definitely adding the prescribed gain to the audio chain at the center frequency of the slider. We have characterized this in detail. I am not sure how accurate the 5000's Histogram display is in regards to magnitude due to the display bin size. I think we OK
